Testing for significant changes to machinery (EU)

Area of application​

This project type is used to determine whether a machine has been substantially modified or not. If substantial modifications are made to machinery, it must be considered as new machinery, which means that a new CE marking is required.

In 2015, the German Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (BMAS) published a document containing guidance on the issue of “Substantial modification of machinery”. You can find this guide in the Knowledge Center.
