Electrical equipment (EU)
Scope of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU
The Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU applies to products with a rated voltage between 50 and 1000 V AC and between 75 and 1500 V DC. These voltage specifications refer to the voltage at the input or output and not to the voltages that can occur within the equipment.
Example products, provided the rated voltage is complied with:
- Household appliances for domestic use
- Audio and video equipment
- Information technology equipment
- Ordinary office machines
- Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear
- Electric motors
Special features in Safety
- Creation of an EU Declaration of Conformity is possible.
- It automatically references the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU.
- It automatically selects the low voltage risk assessment system.
- It is possible to add a test for compliance with RoHS II (Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment).
- It is possible to add a target group.
- Note that this project type has its own hazards and measures pre-defined in the system.
